Whole House Gut & Transformation in Cherry Creek

The centerpiece of this whole-house transformation is a custom floating staircase with black steel stringers, glass panels, and white oak treads. Cascading globe pendant lights run alongside the staircase, making it one of the first things you notice when entering the home.

In the main living area, a $35,000 backlit smokey quartz fireplace wall provides both ambient light and a dramatic architectural feature. The room also includes a cream sectional, contemporary furnishings, and floor-to-ceiling windows. In the kitchen, dark marble countertops and backsplash are paired with custom Aspen Leaf cabinetry in gray wood tones, professional-grade stainless steel appliances, an oversized island with seating for six, built-in wine storage, and glass display cabinets.

The master suite carries many of those same materials into the private areas of the home. It includes an oversized charcoal gray tufted headboard wall, custom pendant lighting, a built-in linear fireplace, white oak flooring, and a separate seating area. The master bathroom features a freestanding copper-finished soaking tub, geometric marble floor tile, leaded glass window details, a barrel-vaulted ceiling, and additional marble finishes.

Wide-plank white oak hardwood floors continue through the main living areas and bedrooms, helping connect spaces that otherwise have very different functions and finishes. Lighting is used heavily throughout the project as an architectural element, including a modern ring chandelier in the living room, linear LED cove lighting, wall sconces, statement pendants, and the globe fixtures surrounding the staircase.

The finished home is distinctly modern, but the material choices keep it from feeling cold. Warm wood, dark stone, black steel, glass, and carefully placed lighting recur throughout the house, giving the Cherry Creek renovation a consistent visual language from room to room.
